recycle your wedding.

Just yesterday I was talking about my struggle with getting rid of wedding related things (here). All you DIY brides out there understand. You spend hours twisting wire around the rims of glass mason jars that hang from trees for a few hours... and then what? Box them up and save it? Throw them away? You like lace tablecloths but do you really need 20 of them?

Well, now I have a solution! Funny how that happened. Last night I bumped into an awesome website to solve all these problems. The site is called 100 Layer Cake and in addition to what most wedding blogs offer - DIY ideas and vendor recommendations - this site is a marketplace for brides to recycle their no longer needed wedding things & DIY projects. Who needs 100 different pieces of vintage china? Or 40 apothecary jars? Brides-to-be... that's who!

Check it out at 100LayerCake.com. It looks pretty new to me but the concept is a great one. When you're in wedding mode, there's no doubt you're seeing the same ideas on every blog out there. You probably love them all but who has the time for that? Here's your chance to tap into other crafty bride's talents to save time and money - crafts add up. It's a win win!

The site has a ways to go (my opinion), so spread the word... it can only get better for all your brides-to-be.

What do you think about the site and concept?
