busy oregon bees.

My parents don't have a blog but they're good about sending photos and anecdotal tidbits about their happenings. Currently at our Oregon House, my mom is super active with her garden club - even manages the monthly newsletter "Produce" for some 100+ members in the group and my dad and uncle stay busy with fishing, cribbage, yard work and watching baseball.

Here are a couple recent photos from them that made me smile.

For mom's birthday, we had a "gardening apron" made for her - complete with pockets - by my girlfriend Alicia who also has an Etsy shop called Hot Chick Aprons - how cute is that? Check out her store... the aprons are super girly, can be customized and make great gifts.

My dad and Uncle Bob recently ventured to The University of Oregon campus to visit a couple museums (they're both history nerds), the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and the Natural/Cultural museum.

{dad getting his zen on}

From Uncle Bob, "The art museum has permanent exhibits of Russian/Japanese/Chinese/Korean art and touring collections. The touring collection yesterday was of a Roman cartographer, printmaker of around 1750..who specialized in accurate depictions of Roman streets/monuments, etc. Giuseppe Vasi. Took some snaps of the Asian artwork. They had Russian Icons from approx. 1300-1500. Bill enjoyed posing at the "throne room" display from ancient China. The jade pagoda was beautiful. The Japanese sword dated from around 1300..still looks incredibly crafted and deadly."

Aren't they cute?
