exploring globe-miami, arizona.

this past weekend, we drove 1.5 hours east of phoenix to the tiny arizona mining town of globe-miami for angela & nick's wedding. neither of us had spent time in globe, so before we headed back home on sunday, we cruised around the historic downtown and obviously had some mexican food at the highly-recommended La Casita Cafe. with a population of less than 8,000 people, it's a sleepy little town filled with a handful of mexican restaurants, antique stores and churches. fun to be in the hometown of such a near and dear friend.

in typical small-town form, pretty much everything was closed on sunday.

quaint historic main street.

...the one thing open was La Casita Cafe mexican restaurant and it was packed & delicious! we bumped into some other wedding guests and enjoyed lunch together. my bean burro + green chilies was muy bueno.

barber shops & saloons. perfect.

heading home. the drive was really pretty.

...beep beep! mandatory horn action in the tunnel.
