rudolph the red nosed mini.
...had a very rad owner. and a quick day trip up to flagstaff this week to play in the snow.
how sweet is the rudolph mini? kids love it and we're quite certain it got danny out of a major speeding ticket.

that can't be comfortable.
Hunter has found a new spot in my car - the tiny center console.
It requires some balancing skill which he demonstrated on our way home from Tucson today.
This kid just has to be in front with mom and dad. A true co-pilot.

twenty-four hours in san diego.
it was a whirlwind of a trip to san diego - 24 hours to be exact - but we fit a lot in.
unfortunately we didn't take many quality photos - including any of the new ride! coming soon.
unfortunately we didn't take many quality photos - including any of the new ride! coming soon.
here's what our quick trip included...
cab dropped us off in the middle of San Diego's LGBT Pride Parade. so we watched.
then we picked up my new car and drove straight to Pacific Beach for lunch & some time in the sand.
headed north to visit Lacey, Chad and Layla at their awesome new home.
dinner and enormous margaritas in Carlsbad with my little brother Steven.
caught up with Heather and her recent trip to Bermuda.
breakfast with Steven & Heather at home before heading to Dana Point for a bridal shower site visit
{can you tell danny loves someone? think she reminds him of a certain little frenchie???}
{loving the decor! lacey and chad made those canvas' that weekend. so cool}
{the happy family & their new home}
{worth the wait! can't wait to watch the remodel process... gonna be amazing}
{i drove home from dinner - it was the first time I got to drive my car that day}
...back to the desert we go. sigh.

on the road again...
Remember a few months back when Danny bought a car in San Diego so we flew out on a Saturday morning and drove it back on Sunday (post here)? Well, we're doing the exact same thing this weekend.
Yup. Apparently we have a thing for San Diego cars (Silvia was also from SD). I've been driving D's Mini Cooper for a couple weeks so we're both excited to be back in our own cars (and I'm not gonna lie - I'm really excited for a new car!). This will be my third car ever. Pretty normal if you ask me, but insane for Danny to comprehend. The man loves to buy and sell cars.
So we're back in San Diego this weekend, escaping the heat and staying far far away from Carmageddon.

see ya, silvia.
It's funny how you spend so much time in your car, but you never really think to take a photo of it. I guess it would feel a little funny to ask someone... "hey, do you mind snapping a quick picture of me and my car?"
Over the years, I've vowed to document things in our real day-to-day life, which has included taking photos of Ting and his cars. One of the reasons for all this is this photo of me and my older brother, Chris. I love this photo - not because it's a particularly cool photo, but because it's fun to look back at mom and dad's old life. Our old life. Someday, I think our kids will see these photos of Danny with his cars and laugh at our "vintage" rides. Maybe they'll think we were complete nerds or that their dad was really cool. Either way, these are the things that we'll remember more than that one fancy dinner out (when people tend to snap all the pics).
Well, here are the last photos of me and Silvia. They may be our first and last, actually. Yes, it's been a long, fun ride, but on Saturday night Danny listed my car and on Sunday afternoon she was sold. It's sad to see her go, but I felt much better after we met her new owners... a dad and his daughter who's starting her sophomore year at UofA. I love it... Silvia is heading back to Tucson to do right by another Wildcat.

It's been real, Silvia.
