jenny on our block.

there's no way this weekend will even begin to compare to last weekend. last weekend we had a real treat - jenny was in town from DC (DC/NYC... tomato/tomato)! she was here to visit her new nephew, the adorable james, and his mom and dad (matt's sister megan and husband jeremy). luckily, they're awesome plus they live in our neighborhood so it was easy to share our friend.

i took last friday off work (yeah, after only a week at the new job) to spend the whole day with jenny. i picked her up bright and early and we were off to tackle a full day of her wedding chores... we went to trusty SAS fabrics and found the most amazing fabric for her wedding table runners. it's gonna be funky and fresh... all 30 yards of it! from there we got some wedding beauty supplies, checked out the Biltmore Mall and may have found Matt's wedding suit and then came home to work on a sewing project and set-up a sample wedding tablescape. it's fabulous!

after all those chores we deserved some wine so danny, megan and james met us at Postino. on saturday, megan and jeremy hosted a fantastic springtime brunch turned lunch... dinner and then late night dance party. wowza.

there's nothing better than having dear friends in your neighborhood... with you at your fave spots. i dream.

a super spontaneous wednesday night.

perhaps it was the arrival of our coachella box, the discussing of line-up faves, or the bottle of wine... i don't really know. but after the epic fail on a homemade pizza (the entire thing got tossed) we decided to swap our sweatpants for jeans, swing by Mama Mia for a slice and head to the Rhythm Room to see Motopony, a band we knew very little about, but thought we may like and decided to give a try. our ten dollar tickets were well worth it. us and 100 other phoenicians jammed front-row to the funky beats of a little seattle indie band at one of the best venues in the valley.

tickets to heaven.

looky what arrived!
after ordering our coachella tickets 10+ months ago, our 2012 wristband package is finally in our hot little hands. the arrival of this little box has really kicked my excitement into high gear. the group emails are flying. the coachella'12 playlists are blasting and festival accessory making is gonna be a top priority this weekend. i'm a happy girl... don't my sweatpants say so? 36 days and counting...

frenchie freak-outs.

at home, hunter is the best dog in the world. out in public... it's a crap shoot. the guy is on edge all. the. time.

if we're in the car, he freaks out when cars or people walking get too close. if we're on a walk and there's a leaf that blows, bird, cat or heaven forbid a dog, he goes into complete meltdown mode. he loves to play with other dogs, but when he sees them from a distance he gets soooo excited and screams. people come out of their homes to see what's going on and shoot us looks like we're the worst parents in the world (or beating our dog).

those of you who have watched huntie, walked with us or spent time outside our home's four walls with my little prince have experienced the screaming frenchie and embarrassment that comes along with it.

on a recent walk, we saw a dog so i got the camera rolling to capture some of the screams. i'm not exaggerating when i say that this is a very mild meltdown. i promise i'll capture a full-blown freak out soon.

so, who wants to take huntie for a walk?

angela, nick... matt, mallary... bring back frenchie-sitting memories?

makaela turns one.

can you believe it's been a year since miss makaela was born?
(her first day in the world seen here

we've had so much fun watching our niece grow like a weed over the past year. her favorite word is still "wow" which she uses when she thinks something is pretty. she's a walker on the move. she looks just like her mama. she smiles on command when you tell her to "show us your teeth" which is hilarious. she still gets freaked out when uncle danny and his beard move in for a kiss too fast and loves when her auntie teri does elevator drops. she's got a family who loves her very much and can't wait for all the milestones to come. happy 1st birthday, little lady!
