phoenix... it's electric!

vicky & joe drove up to phoenix this weekend to see baby makaela and invited us to join them for the APS electric light parade. but when saturday night's temperatures dropped and the rain started pouring down, the plans almost came to a halt.

knowing how much his mom loves a good parade, danny wasn't going to let a little rain stop us from seeing the annual holiday light parade. he wouldn't take no for an answer. d rallied the troops, grabbed scarves, gloves & umbrellas, loaded us all into the mini and we took off for the parade.

and you know what? things worked out just right for us. we found a cozy spot in the heart of the parade route that was perfectly situated under the front canopy at H.B. Hanratty's Pub. just as we settled in, the parade started and we had a front row (covered) spot plus hot tea and beer for the hour long show. and when the rain really started coming down, we chugged our hot drinks and cheered loudly for the marching band and little baton twirlers sticking it out in the wet and cold.

can you see vicky, danny &8 joe right in the front? perfect spot, huh?
