weekend recap.

We had another really mellow weekend at home and loved it. A few snaps from our weekend...

1. Date night. We tried out the new neighborhood spot, Beckett's Table. It was good. The ambiance is warm and inviting with a less-is-more approach. We sat at the community table and immediately knew we were in the presence fellow Yelper when she whipped out her camera for a photo of her meal. The fall opening is perfect because this is a comfort food menu all the way. Quite frankly, I hope they change for the summer because there's no way you could crave this in 100+ degree heat. The menu is filled with sinful entrees like grits & spicy sausage, sheppard's pie (seen below), shorts ribs, chicken & dumplings and the dessert menu includes chocolate covered bacon smores (see below). We each had the tiniest bite of the bacon and decided it was too much for us.

2. Hunter helping mom with another DIY project. Refinished a modern mirror to give it a more shabby look (sanded almost all the white off). Simultaneously, Danny was in the garage working on his latest car project.

3. Huntie in quite the tangle with the extra-long leash we created so he could hang with us in the front yard. We created a monster. He loved all the action in the front yard - bikers, walkers, dogs, cars - and now it's his favorite spot to hang out. He cries at the door to be let into the front yard.

4. Sunday we headed over to Scott & Morgan's to celebrate Scott's 29th with football, pizza, burgers & beer.
